“On the Beautiful Blue Danube” is probably the most famous work of the Johann Strauss and Sons dynasty of composers. The new interactive museum “House of Strauss” in Vienna Döbling is dedicated to the extensive work of the Strauss family, the glittering ball and concert nights of that time and Vienna’s role as a leading music capital.
The original and painstakingly restored rooms of the Casino Zögernitz, where the Strauss family and many other musicians and composers such as Joseph Lanner and Carl Michael Ziehrer conducted and played, will be used for this purpose. The House of Strauss is the new museum for Vienna’s musical landmark.
