Viennese Institute for Strauss Research
The Vienna Institute for Strauss Research (WISF for short) is a sponsoring association for scientific research projects relating to the Strauss family of Viennese musicians and their contemporaries and has it’s offices within the Casino Zögernitz - House of Strauss, Vienna.
The WISF is deliberately not a “Strauss Society”. It is concerned with the in-depth, scientific approach that has long been necessary so that this light music is finally taken seriously and not just marketed "somehow". In this sense, the institute supports the House of Strauss with the visual documentation and research of the museum contents.
