Welcome to Simon – a place where enjoyment, connection, and a passion for good food come together.
Our cuisine combines the best of Austria with the lightness of the Mediterranean.
Fresh, regional ingredients form the basis for creative and surprising dishes – inspired by culinary experiences from around the world.
Shaped by experience and crafted with love for detail, Simon Steindl invites you to rediscover the true art of indulgence.
Born on July 16, 1996, in Tyrol, Simon Steindl began his culinary journey with an apprenticeship in his hometown. Early on, he was drawn to fine dining, where he refined his skills in some of Europe’s most renowned kitchens. He gained experience working with Christian Winkler (2 toques) and at Restaurant Sigwarts Tiroler Weinstuben (4 toques) before spending three years at Atelier by Jan Hartwig in Munich (3 Michelin stars).
This was followed by four formative years at the legendary Steirereck im Stadtpark (3 Michelin stars) under Heinz and Birgit Reitbauer. Additionally, a six-month program with the Foundation Uccelin allowed him to train in top restaurants such as Schloss Schauenstein (3 stars) and Memories (3 stars) in Switzerland, KOL (1 star) in London, and Geranium (3 stars) in Copenhagen.
The House of Strauss with the SIMON restaurant, where Simon Steindl realizes his very personal vision of enjoyment – creative and authentic cuisine with Austrian heart, Mediterranean lightness and genuine passion. Where culture meets indulgence. With our 500 m² guest garden, which creates an idyllic atmosphere with old trees and historic fountains and invites you to linger and enjoy in fine weather.
